College Alumni Council Spearheading $250,000 Fundraising Campaign to Create State-of-the Art Office of Career and Professional Development
BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College today announced the launch of a new campaign to raise $250,000 that will be used to enhance the capabilities of the college’s Office of Career and Professional Development. The funds will be used to create a comprehensive career services platform that will help more Bethany students obtain competitive internships and career opportunities with regional and national employers directly within their field of study.
“College tuition is a major investment for students and their families,” said Bethany College President, Dr. Tamara Nichols Rodenberg. “We are developing a state-of-the-art career and professional development center so students, prospective students and their families know Bethany College invests in them, their careers and their future financial success.”
Under the new initiative, the college is investing in new offices, technology and personnel, and has implemented an ambitious plan to build and maintain productive relationships with prospective employers across the region and nationally. Last fall, the college designed, built and opened a new 1,700-square-foot Career and Professional Development Center, conveniently located in Morlan Hall in the heart of the Bethany College campus. With the help of the college’s career development experts, students receive the knowledge, skills and training they need to increase the odds of landing their ideal job.
The fundraising campaign, developed and led by the Bethany College Alumni Council, will raise $250,000 through individual contributions, corporate donations and foundation grants to help fund the activities of the Career and Professional Development Center. Through a unique feature of the campaign, individual pledges can be fulfilled in two installments – one in 2017 and one in 2018. “Bethany College is investing in innovative programs like this so it can continue to develop intelligent, passionate, compassionate and successful leaders of the future, and I encourage the college’s friends and alumni to support this critically important initiative,” concluded Dr. Rodenberg.
